My wife and I visited the New Orleans area for our 12 year wedding anniversary and we ended our anniversary adventure at the Houmas House. I’m not going to speak to all the photos I took, but the grounds speak for themselves. The gift shop has lots of Southern decor, books, garden things. All the buildings are really authentic to the time period portrayed.

Soon after the death of Wade Hampton II on February 10th, 1858, John Smith Preston decided to sell the Houmas Plantation.
